Happy birthday ANDREAS KISSER! Aug 24th 1968 🤘🎂 #Kisser #Sepultura #Metal #Thrash
🎸 Even before Brazilian metal conquered the world, Andreas Rudolf Kisser had already found his own language in the guitar. Born on August 24, 1968, in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, he turns 58 today. At ten, he was listening to the Beatles, Roberto Carlos, and Tonico & Tinoco; then came Queen, Kiss, Black Sabbath, and a long list of masters who would help shape his style. 🔥 In 1987, his story changed direction: after the departure of Jairo Guedz, Kisser joined Sepultura and debuted on Schizophrenia. From that moment on, his guitar became a cornerstone of the band's evolution, spanning Beneath the Remains, Arise, Chaos A.D., and Roots, albums that transformed the Brazilian group into an international metal force. Kisser has been featured on every Sepultura album since Schizophrenia. ⚡ His journey didn't stop with Sepultura, however. Kisser also played with projects like Hail!, De La Tierra, and Kisser Clan, as well as releasing his solo project Hubris I & II in 2009. He also previously served as Sepultura's bassist, before the Chaos A.D. era. Today, he still officially plays guitar in Sepultura, alongside Paulo Jr., Derrick Green, and Greyson Nekrutman. 🤘 One of the most notable curiosities of his career dates back to 1992: Kisser auditioned for Metallica, who were looking for a temporary replacement for James Hetfield after the accident that left him with severe burns to his arm. The spot eventually went to John Marshall. His influences include guitarists as diverse as Eddie Van Halen, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Tony Iommi, Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Page, and Randy Rhoads. 🎂 At 58, Andreas Kisser still represents one of the fundamental figures in the history of South American metal: a musician capable of transforming technique, aggression, and Brazilian roots into a recognizable identity. His guitar accompanied one of the most important sonic revolutions in extreme metal and continues to be part of Sepultura's history. 🤟🏽😎 Stay tuned 🎸 #AndreasKisser #Sepultura #Metal #HeavyMetal #ThrashMetal
