Full Version upcoming on my channel. Both versions are the original studio versions (Slight tempo change for Elvis though). On a technical note, I couldn't match the key to each other ... just too far apart, unfortunately, which resulted in very bad sound quality. Gwen McCrae released the first version of this classic in March 1972 before Elvis. His version was released in the following October. Brenda Lee recorded it, and it was released just after Gwen's release. The live clip of Gwen is the only one known to exist with her singing this song. I thank Baltic Soul Weekender for posting it and I encourage you to view it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukJiqkiQd9U I knew Gwen as she was from Pensacola, Florida. When I ran a record store there, Gwen would drop in to chat and buy records. She was touring Europe during that time, and I would supply her with 45s of 'Rock Me Baby', her biggest hit, to give away at her concerts. As a record collector, I'm proud to own several discs and covers that she autographed for me. She passed away in 2012. She really was a wonderful and kind lady, and she made her mark in the industry. Therea are YT videos encapsulating her history and they really have some great information. And there are plenty of music performances. I invite you to visit my channel and hope you are inclined to subscribe. I don't have crude or questionable videos; none worse than PG. PLEASE DON'T use foul language, don't make crude comments, and don't flame others. Take it somewhere else. Those comments and any mention of JS will be deleted immediately. And you may be blocked. ty
