These are two rare recordings from the band What's What. What's What was a band that existed during the early years/days of the "Laundry Works" (somewhere between the Keystone and the Cactus Club - but before Muzzies). The first song "Hot Pants" is a recording during rehearsal at Dan's house, and the second "Love Gangsters" is a studio recording. Ironically, the simple boom box practice recording survived the many years better than the studio version. There is one other song "Safer Bet" than is in really bad shape that I'm trying to clean up... unfortunately there isn't technology that exists today that can fix Sheldon's ultra sharp trumpet line in that song :( Band members: Steve Devlin: Vocals & Guitar Dan Casey: Drums & Backup vocals Tom Nelson: Bass Doug Snyder: Percussion/Horns (can't remember what kind) Stacy McClure: Backup vocals Barbara: Sax Sheldon: Trumpet One or two additional Mattingly brothers on horns too... Also- pretty much everyone sang backup on the "ooo-ahhhs" on Love Gangsters. I add a particularly rich baritone into the harmony. Sorry... there isn't any video that I'm aware of. Tom
