They felt an immediate musical affinity for one another and over the next few years played together at restaurants, clubs, festivals and concerts whenever Lenny was in Maine for any period of time. They also became close friends and for a time Lenny lived with Brad. Lenny and Brad's performances were characterized by a high level of musical spontaneity, interplay and creative improvisation. There were no rehearsals and set lists were used only very rarely. The tracks here were recorded at one of Lenny's many gigs at the No Tomatoes Restaurant in Auburn, Maine sometime in 1978. Lenny played the first and part of the second set alone and then invited Brad up on stage to play with him. Despite the poor sonic quality of the recording, these cuts clearly demonstrate the high energy improvisation, humor and impeccable musicianship of the duo. 1.Introduction 2. Brad's Blues 01:05 2.
