The Stooges: Complete Funhouse sessions 'Frankenstein's Monster Mix'. Side A
I AM IN NO WAY CLAIMING AUTHORSHIP OF THE ORIGINAL WORK. I'm claiming fair use and educational value on here and dearly hoping it isn't taken down because it's something I've been meaning to do for years. In any case all royalties should go to the correct sources. (edit, so it's allowed but demonitised, which is totally correct, this is above all a fan edit). It should be clear by this point that I own none of the copyright so naturally the picture's aren't mine, I made a quick slideshow of the best definition pictures I could find. They're not all from the era of funhouse, but some of the great concert ones are. I especially love the pictures of the recording of the first album with a Simon and Garfunkel poster in the background. This is the version of Funhouse I always wanted to hear. I consider it a monolithic work. A lodestone of popular culture. Perhaps the greatest single rock album of all time? (though Black Sabbath's Master of Reality should definitely get a shout out). I'd argue it's one of the most important at least. I remember Henry Rollins saying in a hypothetical third person voice 'Who'd want to listen to 7 CD's of the stooges outtakes?' and answering with an emphatic 'I WOULD!'. I'm in his camp but had a yen to unite all the strongest (in my opinion parts of the boxset to reimagine it). I've avoided heavy modern processing, timestretching etc and treated things as if they were simple tape edits. I kept things raw, as they should be in this case. And there we have it: I hope you get to hear this and it's not taken down immediately. Here's a breakdown: 00:00 Introduction 00:25 Down in the Street Take 8 02:00 Down in the Street Take 13 03:00 Down in the Street Take 10 03:40 Down in the Street Take 4 04:08 Down in the Street Take 13 04:50 Loose Take 3 05:06 Loose Take 15 05:43 Loose Take 5 05:50 Loose Take 6 06:24 Loose Take 12 06:45 Loose Take 6 07:24 Loose Take 13 08:30 TV Eye Take 9 10:18 TV Eye Take 8 11:11 TV Eye Take 11 (wow!) 12:19 TV Eye Take 12 13:08 Dirt Take 10 13:57 Dirt Take 8 14:53 Dirt Take 5 16:28 Dirt Take 10 18:37 Dirt Take 4 And there we have side A. as I ytpe I can see that the only issue with this video is it can't be monetised by me and will probably have ad's, sorry about that. Side B is upcoming but I have a LOT of concurrent projects ongoing and LA Blues is something of a conundrum to edit as I'm sure you can imagine.
