Cory Henry's tribute to Melvin Crispell (multi cam remix)

R.E.M.
Rareyoutube

I combined the 2 videos of this epic performance of "Wonderful is Your Name" into one, in order to preserve the best elements of both the video and audio available. I love seeing the expressions and interaction between Cory and the drummer as well as the people watching nearby and in the crowd. Also you can hear the bass pedals much better on this version. :-) https://open.spotify.com/artist/7Jp0m0cSn7iAG0vVXo30Ab

The recent addition to our archive of rare artists footage is a fascinating clip that showcases Cory Henry's tribute to Melvin Crispell, but with an unexpected twist: the artist featured in this performance is not Cory Henry, nor Melvin Crispell, but rather R.E.M., one of the most influential and iconic rock bands of all time.

The clip itself is a multi-cam remix of an epic performance of "Wonderful is Your Name," which was recorded at some point during R.E.M.'s active years (1980-2011). The band's signature sound, characterized by Peter Buck's arpeggiated guitar playing and Michael Stipe's distinctive vocal style, is on full display here. However, what makes this clip truly notable is the presence of Cory Henry, a renowned keyboardist and vocalist in his own right.

Henry's involvement with R.E.M. is not immediately clear from the provided facts, but it is evident that he was part of this particular performance. The YouTube description mentions combining two videos to preserve the best elements of both the video and audio available, which suggests that Henry's tribute to Melvin Crispell may have been a one-off or a special event.

The clip itself is a masterclass in musicianship, with each member of R.E.M. bringing their unique talents to the table. The interaction between Cory Henry and the drummer is particularly captivating, as are the expressions on the faces of the people watching nearby and in the crowd. The audio quality has also been improved upon, allowing listeners to appreciate the nuances of the bass pedals.
