BEE GEES Odessa Rare
Bee Gees - Odessa (City on the Black Sea) rare live performance on Italian TV in 1972. Barry is playing his acoustic guitar live, with a bit of flamenco, and it appears they are all singing live to a backing track. This video is part of a five song performance for RAI Television in 1972. As far as I know this is the only live performance the Bee Gees did of this song. Barry is quoted (talking to Robin) in 2001: "I've been trying to get you to sing “Odessa” on stage for years!" meaning nothing since 1972. The Bee Gees album Odessa was released to no publicity in 1969. No publicity because the brothers were "not talking". It was released during their 18 month break up. Barry Gibb, in a Billboard Magazine article in 2001, talking about Odessa: "But, back at the time we first made that album, we weren't there to promote it. In fact we didn't promote it at all - because we weren't on speaking terms."
