Fresh out of psychedelic band The Brew, Tommy joins the Mojo nightclub resident band with allstars Bruno Lawrence, Claude Papesch and Dave Russell in 1968. In 1969, Tommy and the band flip this slow jam into a monster Soul hit with tweaked effects and tight musicianship. I wonder if it is the same band members? Tommy goes on to land a contract with TV show C'Mon, Happen Inn and can still sing a house down at 81. The Band were a Canadian-American rock band formed in Toronto, Ontario. It consisted of Canadians Rick Danko, Garth Hudson, Richard Manuel and Robbie Robertson and American Levon Helm. The Band's music combined elements of Americana, folk, rock, R&B, jazz and country, which influenced artists including George Harrison, Elton John, the Grateful Dead, Eric Clapton and Wilco.
