Doris Duke - "Feet Start Walking" (b/w "How Was I To Know You Cared") (Jerry Williams, Jr.; Gary U.S. Bonds) Canyon single 35 Released in May 1970. Produced and arranged by Jerry "Swamp Dogg" Williams, Jr. Born in Sandersville, Florida in 1945, Doris Duke is a name that is very seldom heard of, in spite of all the deep soul and gospel singles and LPs she has released over the years (as a solo artist and with The Caravans) - personally, my first taste of this artist's work came with this 1970 release, "Feet Start Walking", which was actually something I randomly stumbled upon while spending some time at my local thrift store..... anyway, this gritty slice of deep soul was co-written by Jerry "Swamp Dogg" Williams, Jr. alongside Gary U.S. Bonds about a love affair gone awry when the narrator finds her loved one with another woman after dropping by said lover's house. Audio taken from my personal 45 RPM record collection and restored. NOTE: No copyright infringement is intended with this video whatsoever; posted for educational and entertainment purposes only. Enjoy!!!
