The footage comes from the same concert that produced the archival live album Carolina Dreams Tour '77, filmed at the height of the band's commercial success as a touring act. Doug Gray, Toy Caldwell, Tommy Caldwell, George McCorkle, Jerry Eubanks, and Paul Riddle — the complete original six-man lineup — deliver "This Ol' Cowboy" as the second-to-last song of a 14-song set. That same year, their studio album Carolina Dreams pushed "Heard It in a Love Song" to No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, cementing the band as a major force in Southern rock.
