American Chicago-style blues guitarist, singer and songwriter known as Magic Slim. Older brother of Nick Holt. Nicknamed Magic Slim by boyhood friend Magic Sam. First relocated to Chicago in 1955, soon returned to Mississippi, and then back to Chicago in 1965. Born: August 7, 1937, in Torrance, Mississippi. Died: February 21, 2013, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
