About Betty Harris

American soul singer, mainly known for her Jubilee and Sansu recordings. Born 1939 in Orlando, Florida. Mentored by Big Maybelle. First solo recording was released in 1962, her major hit was a cover of Solomon Burke’s “Cry To Me” in 1963. She retired from music business in 1970 until her comeback in 2005.
