About Alexandros (band)

Alexandros (アレキサンドロス, Arekisandorosu), stylized as [Alexandros], are a Japanese rock band comprising Yoohei Kawakami (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Hiroyuki Isobe (bass, backing vocals), Masaki Shirai (lead guitar) and Ib Riad (drums). They are managed by UK Project, and are signed to RX-Records and Polydor Records under Universal Music Japan. Kawakami formed the band in 2001 while attending Aoyama Gakuin University. Originally named [Champagne], they made their official debut in 2010 with Where's My Potato? and changed their name to [Alexandros] in 2014 following a request from Bureau du Champagne, Japan. Kawakami initially formed [Champagne] with four fellow university students, but they left upon seeing that he was serious about the band's activities. Hiroki Ishikawa and Hiroyuki Isobe subsequently joined the band after being recruited by Kawakami in 2001. After several changes in members, in 2010, Kawakami, Shirai, Isobe and Ishikawa debuted under RX-Records. In November 2014, it was announced that the band had signed a global partnership deal with Universal Music Group, beginning with their 2015 single "Wataridori" / "Dracula La" (ワタリドリ/Dracula La).
